Microsoft Xbox One X India price and availability details announced

NEW DELHI: Months after introducing its most powerful gaming console, the Xbox One X, Microsoft is finally bringing it to India. The Redmond-based tech firm is giving Indian gamers a new year gift in the form of making the console available starting January 15. The device is aimed to compete with Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro, which was launched in India in February last year at Rs 38,990.

Xbox One X has been priced at Rs 44,990, which might force first time console customers to think twice before buying it as its competition is offering its console at a lower price point. Microsoft explains that the buyers will get the console, a wireless Xbox One controller, 4K supporting HDMI cable and a AC power cable inside the box.

Some software goodies are also being given to users. These include a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial along with a month of Xbox Game Pass subscription trial.

The firm won't be keeping the Xbox One X exclusive to an e-commerce website. The device will be made available on both Amazon India and Flipkart from January 15. Although the Xbox India website has a link directing to its own dedicated product pages on both e-commerce websites, none of them have listed the console yet.

Xbox India website also mentions a list of offline retailers who sell the consoles. The One X might be available with them as well upon its launch.

Brushing up the specs of the gaming machine, the Xbox One X can handle 4K HDR content and is powered by a custom octa-core AMD CPU clocked at 2.3GHz. it is powered by 2GB of DDR5 RAM, 8GB flash memory and 1TB of HDD storage.

Enhancing the gaming experience will be Dolby Digital 5.1, and PCM 2.0, 5.1 and 7.1 audio. As for the connectivity, users get the ability to use IR blaster, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2 HDMI ports, 3 USB 3.0 ports, IR-out and Ethernet ports.

Xbox One X may be tad bit more powerful than the PS4 Pro as it has 6 teraflops of graphical processing performance. That is 1.8teraflops more than the latter.

Although boasting these features, the One X is both slimmer and lighter than the Xbox One.
